Cash Money Content is taking the Street Lit industry by storm. They are the hottest publishing company out right now. The have a roster that includes Wahida Clark, husband and wife duo Ashley & Jaquavis, and now K'wan.
The "Welfare Wifeys" writer is fresh out of a contract with SMP. He broke the news of his new venture with CMC at this year's African American Literary Awards during his acceptance speech for the Street Fiction Writer of the Year award.
K'wan said in part:
It first came to my attention like a year or two ago when they were first putting CMC together. At the time I wasn’t sure if it’d be a good fit for me so I didn’t really follow up on it. I wanted to see how serious they were going to be about pushing their books and I was surprised to find they were and it wasn’t a gimmick. This past May again at the Cash Money Content launch party in New York City I said something that got someone’s attention. I must’ve made an impression because they joined in with the other publishers when they were trying to recruit me. When it was all said and done Cash Money laid the best offer on the table, financially and in terms of letting an author be as big as he/she wants to be.
Congrats to K'wan. This deal will blow him into the stratosphere! To read the entire interview on K'wan's plans CLICK HERE
