Poem: Never

I have never been in awe of a man
Speechless from his talent and perfection
Showcasing the depth of his mind
I pledged that he would be mine
For he was my male reflection

I have never been in awe of a man
Whose voice demanded my attention
Painting beautiful pictures with his lips
From my soul to my fingertips
I yearn to be the "Perfect Mate" in his vision

I have never been in awe of a man
My intelligence doesn't intimidate him
For we share the same ambition and drive
Creative and authentic at the same time
I am inspired by the different sides of him

I have never been in awe of a man
A man whose heart I have yet to see
But one day his heart will show
And on that day I will know
That the man is now in awe of me!

Poem: Starting Anew!

Goodbye to all the old ways
and all that I'd do
For my days are different now
and starting anew
I think of my childhood
and can't help but smile
I remember myself as a pre-teen
the quietest one around
When I approached my teen years
I was love sick and confused
and as those years ended
I was broken down and bruised
I am entering adulthood now
and starting a new life
with hopes of being someone's mommy
and even someone's wife
I've come to terms with everything
that's happened in my past
Now I can find true happiness
within myself at last!
